Gemma and Jess join the much-needed conversation on ageism in the animation industry. Let’s get talking!
It’s been several years since we started working in animation in 2012, we’re no longer juniors and are looking ahead to our futures, what happens to people who want to start a family? How do we stay up to date on our skills? Is unpaid overtime bad for seniors as well as millennials? Can we negotiate a fair salary based on experience? And how do we keep going when so many (women in particular) start to leave the industry due to burnout?
We want to look at ways to improve our roles in this beloved medium and keep diverse voices in this industry, please join our conversation on Twitter and let us know your thoughts and experiences! Tweet us @wineandzine
And you can find Bryony’s poll asking if you’ve worked with women in animation over their 30’s here: bit.ly/2QC4E7k
